Chincoteague Island, Virginia is where we are located. We are right next to the beautiful southern half of Assateague Island. Chincoteague is only about 1 hour south of Ocean City, Maryland and about 2 hours north of Virginia Beach. Chincoteague is a scenic town with lodging, restaurants, shops and various attractions. Chincoteague is only 20 minutes south of the MD/VA state line on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

We leave from the best location on Chincoteague, across from the Assateague Lighthouse, with a great view of Assateague and the best access to areas where the wild ponies live. We are close to Assateague. Our location provides the best access for our tour boat to explore the Northern area of Assateague here in Virginia, where the "Northern Herd" of wild ponies live. Several "bands" (family groups of ponies) live along this remote pristine coastline of Assateague. So if the "Southern Herd" of ponies is not out, we can look for the ponies in the "Northern Herd". We enjoy spending our entire time along Assateague.

Our location is close, sheltered and therefore the safest place to leave from and return to. We are located close to and directly behind the barrier island of Assateague which provides shelter. We are not forced to navigate through rough waters at the southern end of Chincoteague or sail from the other side of the island to get here where we want to be in the first place. We are so close to Assateague that we can often spot some herds of ponies from our dock before we even depart. Our scenic dock is also a great location for our kayakers to leave from.
