Assateague Explorer has logged thousands of miles along Assateague Island in search of wild ponies. Since 2001, our interesting journey has attracted media coverage from all over the world. Stories about Assateague Explorer have been featured on the ABC Good Morning America Show, Southern Living Magazine, Coastal Living Magazine, Family Fun Magazine, Virginia Lifestyles Magazine and many more around the world. Our interesting expeditions here in Virginia have been filmed by journalists as far away as Japan for their television shows. Journalists have brought the wild ponies being seen on our Virginia nature cruises and kayaking tours before a large audience.

Chincoteague and Assateague are unique islands filled with history and allure. Visitors travel with us during their vacation to see these spectacular islands known for the famous wild ponies. Through our tours, the media has helped people visualize this special place, its beaches, fishing, birding and small beach town atmosphere. Journalists have presented an interesting story of 300 wild horses that live in herds along the island, relatives of the first horses which arrived here hundreds of years ago. Stories have featured us helping thousands of people realize their dreams of seeing the wild ponies along these breathtaking coastlines.
